The American Dream
The project is about domestic violence in the 1950s. We believe it’s an important era as looking back at everything, it looks so still and perfect, but behind the scenes the picture is not so perfect, which is where the action really strikes.
Domestic violence happens everywhere, but not many people know about it, it’s kept hush hush. We think that domestic violence still happens, but now we also have Childline and things like that which means it doesn’t have to be so secret, and you can talk to someone about it.

About me
Natalie and Luso are taking part in what we want!, a media grant scheme run by youth charity Futureversity (formerly Tower Hamlets Summer Uni) and supported by Mediabox.www! helps young people aged 13-19 create a film or photo project about a subject they feel passionate about. The project offers mentoring, training and financial support over 4 months, culminating in a public exhibition in November.
This years exhibition, open to the public, takes place at Maverik Showroom from 23-28 November 2010.
